Broomwood Community Wellbeing Centre
Broomwood Community Wellbeing Centre is a resource for all; whatever your age or ability there will be something going on that will interest you – if not, let us know and we can help you start it!
The centre is run by Bluesci working with the local community to supports people through the 5 Ways to Wellbeing:
Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Give, Learn
These five aspects of life are encouraged through the activities and services running at the Wellbeing Centre, as listed below. If you are over 18, a Trafford resident and want to access the centre then you can pop in anytime to have a look around, or you can ring us on 0161 980 0720 or send us a message via this website contact us.
Additionally Bluesci offer individual support for people who may be experiencing emotional or psychological distress in their lives. We offer support to help you find ways of building your confidence and to improve and maintain your wellbeing. If you are interested in receiving this kind of support, call 0161 912 2177.
The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 420 foodbanks, which work out of more than 1,200 centres across the UK and provide emergency food to people during crisis situations such as redundancy, benefit delays or receiving an unexpected bill.
Staff and volunteers here at the Broomwood CWC can issue foodbank vouchers, which can be taken to local foodbanks and be exchanged for a parcel containing a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced food.
Staff and volunteers are trained in issuing foodbank vouchers with appropriate discretion, and can discuss further support available at the centre.
Vouchers can be issued at any time during normal opening hours (9-5, Mon-Fri), although the best time to call in for a voucher is on Friday mornings, when a volunteer specifically dedicated to issuing vouchers is on duty. This is also convenient because the closest foodbank, at Timperley Methodist Church, operates between 10 AM – 12 noon on Fridays.
