Computer 1-2-1 support volunteering

Outline of Roles and Tasks: Supporting individuals to become computer literate. Cooperating with individuals to identify the areas of computer use they want to improve on, setting achievable goals and monitoring progress. This may include supporting someone to set up an email account, use word processing programmes, or surf the internet. The role is very much about encouraging individuals to feel confident in using and understanding IT for their purposes.

The skills you need:

  • Good IT skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Empathy and understanding

Hours/Days Required: We have vacancies Monday to Friday, 9-5.

Times: Flexible, although ideally you would be able to commit to a regular shift

In return we will provide:

We would prefer that you can offer at least two sessions each week.  This can be discussed during our first meeting

As a first step of this process we require you to disclose any criminal convictions you may have, including those considered 'spent' under the Rehabilitation of Offenders act 1974, or any police action pending. Please be assured that disclosure of a criminal conviction will not necessarily prejudice your application. If you do not have any convictions please write ‘none’ in the space provided
