If you need one just ask a volunteer or member of staff. If you are worried about your privacy, please feel free to ask for a private chat.
Activities you can attend without booking – just come along
In addition to the following activities, the centre offers free computer use and internet access, 9 am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Black and white printing is available for 5p per sheet.

Monday | 11.00am-12.30pm | Community Choir – free and open to all – whether you're an experienced singer or a complete beginner. Sing all sorts of songs with others in a positive and supportive environment. If you'd like to join in but feel nervous come along for a taster session or get in touch with us to have a chat – call 0161 980 0720 or pop into the centre. |
Monday | 2:30-4:30 | Bike Repair Drop-in Come along and join in for some tinkering! Free repairs and instruction. Bikes serviced with tea and biscuits provided. Open to all. Indoor space on standby in case rain stops play! Contact Mike on 07445 817485 for more information. |
Monday | 3.30pm – 5.00pm | Kids in Space – FREE weekly workshops for young people aged 5-25. If you have an interest in outer-space or technology and want to learn about the wonders of the universe come along to any workshop and experience hands-on practical activities. We have structured learning programmes which boost your skills in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics and develop your employability in fun and interesting ways. Volunteers welcome. This is a great group if you want to improve your wellbeing or if you feel isolated and wish to make friends. This group is part of the Multicultural Women's Group and is for women only. Thursday | 11.00am – 12.30pm | Gentle Yoga – Yoga class for people who are looking for a gentle form of exercise and who may have some mobility impairments. Members can choose to perform the exercises either sitting in a chair or on the floor. In order to take part in this class you will need to be a member of U3A (The University of the Third Age) and apply to join the class by contacting the U3A Groups Coordinator at ADanieli53@icloud.com. U3A is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment providing educational creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. The cost of membership is currently £15.00 per year. This gives you access to some 90 different interest groups many of which are free or for the cost of the room hire which is divided amongst the members of the group. Various | Diabetes Prevention – Healthier You Greater Manchester is a nine-month behaviour change programme that helps support those at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by significantly reducing their chances of getting the disease. Recovery Academy Courses (free)

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Recovery Academy provides a range of free educational courses and resources co-written and co-delivered by both professionals and people who themselves have experienced mental health or substance misuse problems. All the courses focus on supporting people with their recovery and promote good health and wellbeing.
Who can attend?
- Anyone who is experiencing mental health or substance misuse problems including their supporters (family, friends and loved ones)
- GMW staff, volunteers, students on placement and health care professionals
